COMPANY PROFILE
PROTEC PET HEALTH is a family owned and operated business created in 1982. Operating from a small warehouse in Concord California, the owner delivered products from the trunk of a car to local pet stores, grooming shops and breeders. Over the past two decades the company has grown immensely and is still expanding.
Products are still sold to pet stores, grooming shops and breeders, but are also sold to Veterinary hospitals, Animal rescue centers and thousands of individual pet owners. After two plus decades of growth, PROTEC PET HEALTH, still family owned, has added a second generation of family members to the team.
Today, products are no longer being delivered from a trunk of a car, they are shipped world wide.
THE FOUNDER
Sharon Rouse Bryant is the founder & creator of " PROTEC PET HEALTH "
In the mid 1960's , Sharon started showing Lhasa Apsos and quickly became successful. During this time period and through the seventies she became one of the worlds top breeders of the Hamilton line known as " SharBo" Lhasa
Apsos. SharBo Lhasas are known world wide and are regarded by some as the best of the best.
In the late 70's, Sharon also owned two grooming salons, this is when she noticed a large percentage of unhealthy pets coming into her salons. Sharon could tell by their poor coats and inflamed skin that this condition was due to the lack of nutrition in their diets. When she heard some of her clients pets were dying at an early age, she decided that something should be done to enhance the health of animals.
Sharon found and presented her vision to Dr. Theodore Aarons, the director of "PROTEIN RESEARCH ASSOCCIATES " of Berkley California.
Dr. Aarons has been active in Amino Acid research for many years and is an authority on nutrition.
Under Dr. Aarons guidance, Sharon created " BODY GUARD " a pet food supplement that is designed to enhance nutrition when added to commercially manufactured foods. Now two decades later, "BODY GUARD " along with all other PROTEC PET HEALTH products are shipped around the world.
